What is a Hem Tag? The newest trend that has gained in popularity for the labeling industry, is the Hem Tag. These tags are those little folded logo tags you see placed on the outside of a clothing item. Often on the bottom of the shirt, but not exclusively!
Step 2: Cut any hanging tags off your clothing using scissors. You should never yank or pull on these labels, as this can stretch out or even tear the garment. The most common occurrence is the development of a hole, which is known to grow larger with time.
One of the easiest ways to attach a price tag is to find hang tags that also have holes, and then loop a simple piece of string or strap through the tag, then through a hole on the clothing. When the string is tied, this creates a versatile price tag that’s much harder to remove than a simple sticker.
Can I put my own tag on wholesale clothing?
Is it legal to relabel the apparel with your own labels when you have purchased it wholesale through a different company? Yes, it is legal within given parameters. However, there are strict guidelines governing the practice.
So, why do thrift store cut tags? Thrift stores may cut the tags to avoid people returning them. People that donate clothes may cut the tags because they irritate the skin, and the tag can flip over making it visible outside the garment. Clothing manufacturers often cut tags of defective items.
The first option, which is the easiest way, is using a piece of string or cord.
- Pull the cord through the hang tag’s hole and make a loop after.
- Fold the cord in half and tie up the closed end through the hang tag to secure the cord.
- Pull the open end of the cord through the loop at the opposite end.
Grasp the hang tag gently and pull it toward you to take away the slack in the material that attaches it to the item. Position the blades of a pair of sharp scissors on either side of the attachment and clip it into two pieces. Remove the attachment and the hang tag from the item and discard.
You can remove sticker or decal residue pretty easily with pre -wash treatments and regular laundry detergent. Just remember to never place clothes with sticker residue in the dryer until the stain is completely removed: Dried-on adhesives are much harder to eliminate.
Can you relabel clothing and sell it?

Basically, it allows you to use a product of a wholesale company and sell it as your own, but there are limitations, of course. You can’t just grab any T-shirt, get rid of the branding and sell it as your own.
